Hello Berlin 04:01
Rory pissed Ben sober Booked it so you'll be together Off to Berlin Off to Berlin You Go Martha made a promise to go Jools knew he couldn't say no Uh oh Berlin They're going to eat your sausages! Any excuse to leave this place To feel the race of your pulse again Off to Berlin Off to Berlin you go Like fish behind a window Lit from below Static in the water Staring blankly to the corner On Ben's birthday you took a train The German's took all your money away Fuck you Berlin! Damn, you must have looked like tourists! I hear it's a nice time of year No it is not! No it is not! Cos it's January And it's freezing And you ain't got no money For our drinking But you'll be alright I'm thinking Like fish behind a window Lit from below Static in the water Staring blankly to the corner Been to Berlin How does it feel to be home? (Shit)

This year I can't afford to purchase Presents for my family and friends I have not a penny to rub between My thumb and forefinger This year it all went wayward I had no gainful employment With no cheerleader To cheer me on No woman No fun Oh Christmas Oh Christmas Oh offer forgiveness Oh Christmas Oh Christmas I let the family down I am going to occupy An old tent by a cathedral The minister won't know what to do What would Jesus do? Oh Christmas Offer Christmas I let the family down Next Christmas I'll be back in business You will all be showered in things

Silent night holy night Pray for calm pray for light Bitter winter has taken your cheer Tiresome company spoiled your beer If only I could sleep If only I could sleep Violent night lonely night Suited men starting fights Threat of danger in the air Dodging cars in the square Drink in heavenly fear Drink in heavenly fear Silent night holy night Hold me dear my new bride Take your dress off and come to me You the present I long to see Glide in heavenly sheets Sleep in heavenly peace

about

Three songs written around Christmas between 2011- 2013. A melancholic response to the usual Christmas nonsense. I am no Scrooge-humbug type, but for some reason it goes against my nature to write a truly joyous, cheese-filled Christmas puff.

There is a story for each song. Click on the song for more details, lyrics and credits.
